The Ministry for Primary Industries recently looked into Neem granules and lay a blanket registration decision on all products of this type. (which I'm glad they did)
However, Naturally Neem Sea-Hume granules do not contain the raw Neem kernel, which is the factor that makes it not safe for food crops. This is due to the aflatoxin, which is carcinogenic and that occurs naturally in the Neem kernel.
Our granules contain a bi-product from the azadirachtin processing, in which this aflatoxin is no longer present.
To get this product registered for use on food crops requires registration that is similar to that of the insecticide. $7k and about 3yrs, and my business cannot afford this.
